‘Ramadan Worker’ is an experiential film, shot in Dubai, following a day in the life of a building worker from Pakistan during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. Mohamed is working on a building site in searing summer heat with temperatures reaching 47 degrees celsius but is unable, due to religious convictions, to eat or drink during daylight. ‘Ramadan Worker’ follows Mohamed from the time he wakes at 3am to have breakfast before daylight to the final prayer when he can eat and drink once again. Living in a labour camp on the outskirts of Dubai, it is an unusual insight into this closely guarded life.
